Jessica Cox - Not Just Motivational

Jessica Cox can tap dance. She can brush her own hair. She wears her contact lens all by herself. She can ride a car.

“Hey, this is common. Even I can do all of that”

Jessica Cox is a certified pilot.

“Ok, I am not a pilot. But I know many who are.”

Yes, all these are common things, but what makes Jessica a super woman? She does all of this without arms.

Yes, Jessica Cox, was born with no arms. Her mom raised her as a normal child and never let Jessica feel that her disability would trouble her. Soon Jessica learned to use her legs to play with toys, to write, to brush etc. In one of her videos, she tells that she was a bit nervous when she had to dance on the stage for the first time. But once she finished her dance and left the stage, she was already longing for her next chance to get on the stage.

Today, Jessica Cox through her hard work has owned two Black Belts in Karate and can drive her car all by herself just by using her legs. Not just that, she can play piano and does all her day to day activity by herself. She leads her life as a motivational speaker. Jessica explains to the world when you combine fearlessness, creativity and persistence, nothing is impossible.

Jessica took up the test for acquiring her driving license. She cleared the test with flying colours and she got her license. But a couple of week later, her driving license was suspended stating that it would be dangerous for someone without arms to drive the car. So she had to take couple of additional tests to get her license back. Today, Jessica Cox drives her car in roads without any additional extensions fitted to the car.

Not just that,

Jessica Cox was always feared of heights and she wanted overcome that. When she was provided with the opportunity to fly a flight she eagerly accepted it. She was ready to fight her fears. After three years of hard work and consistency, she is now a licensed pilot and currently the only armless pilot in the world.

Jessica Cox has just proved one thing to all of us. Everyone has problems. You just have to figure a way out of it. Jessica might had difficulties in driving her car, piloting a flight etc. But she figured a way to do them all.

Now, when someone without arms can do this much, can’t we achieve something in this world? She has already become my role model.

Four wives - a real good story

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.
He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.
He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.
Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.
One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"
Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.
The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.
He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.
Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"
Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives
a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.
c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.

So always keep your soul in front of what you do and keep it happy.

Hardwork has no substitute.

There was a aloof college boy who never cared about his education. He took the books only the day before the exam. He fell in love with a girl when he was in 3rd Semester. He only came to college to see her. Once he makes eye contact he went to the nearest entertainment center and spent his time.

By the time he finished his 5th Semester he had about 16 arrears. He never worried about the arrears until one day he sat in a shop with his friends. Suddenly one of his friend came with a discussion to know who has the most number of arrears. By the end of the discussion our hero came to know that he was the topper and all his friends only had very few. Now he understood where he was standing. He had became the worst student in the class. His hall ticket came in, he had to 2400 rupees,100 for each paper, the highest being paid as examination fee. He was in no progress with the girl he was in love also. His world went into dark, he had no site of his future and he was scared to death. He even considered sucide. When he went to pay the fees, the co-ordinator was shocked.

"What the hell happened?" the co-ordinated asked suprisingly.
"No, mam. i never knew I would come to this point in my life" he replied.
"But this is a mess." the co-ordinator was still confused.
"I know mam. My life is screwed". he was about to cry.
"Hey, Its not like that. You still can do that. You only work hard. It is very easy" the co-ordinator replied confidently.
"Thanks mam. I will put my effort", he took the hall ticket and left the room.

From that day he started looking into his books and made a plan of how he is going to study. He started a new life. One day he was sitting in the same shop with his friends, when they started discussing what they learn and all that and finally one of his friend conclude "It is hard work and hard work alone" and he gave a example from his life.
His friend started with his story,

"Till today I don't know much about the EC paper, but I cleared it. Because I kept reading that book again and again and tried to understand it. But it was grey area for me. After I wrote that paper, I thought I am going to fail, but when the results came, I cleared it. What does it mean? It means God only looks into how sincere you are and how hard working you are and only based on that you get your results"

By this time our hero was ready to improve his effort to one step further. He started reading all his books again and again and did everything he can. The exams came near and the confidence he had was unlimited because of the hard work he did.

The results came, he had cleared 17 Papers that semester alone. He completed his other papers in the subsequent semesters and came out of the college neatly.

And finally that he understood what his hard work. So you want to achieve something work towards it blindly but sincerely. You will win.

Who is Blind?

Hey all,

Yesterday, I was with my family shopping in Purasalwakkam. Lately I have been so down and feeling bad about my career, my health and so many other things.
When I was hovering around the shop, I saw a family. The husband and wife were both blind. They have two kids, who were normal and very cute indeed. I still can't believe how normal they were. They were shopping too. Both their kids were boys. They were playing around, but their mother did not leave the tight grasp she had on her kids. I have seem moms who shout at their kids when they play in shopping malls, when they are busily shopping. But this person was so nice, She went to were ever the kids took her to. She kept laughing and smiling on the way the kids were playing. Though her husband was not moving around with the kids, he still managed to follow them from the point he stood, with the help of the kid's voice, and he was still laughing and replying to the kid's childish questions. Finally they got everything they required and made the payment. Since he was blind, he had to give away the rupees by touching and feeling them. He made it very easily and left the shop happily.
Hopefully you might have understood what would be running in my mind.
The happiness and sadness is in the way you take life as. You just have to figure out a way of all your anomalies. The husband in the family might initially had problems in sensing and giving the correct money, but he figured out a way. The mom would have initially had some problem in brining up the kids, but she figured out a way. They both would have had many other problems from their childhood. But they figured out a way to be happy. But we here weep for the bad things happening and forget to understand that there is always a way to do anything, but only thing is we are not figuring the way out. So now tell me, who is blind?
My english might be bad, but hopefully you should have understood the message, so go figure it out. Have a happy day....

Never Give up

Sir Winston Churchill took three years getting through eighth grade because he had trouble learning English. It seems ironic that years later Oxford University asked him to address its commencement exercises. He arrived with his usual props. A cigar, a cane and a top hat accompanied Churchill wherever he went.
As Churchill approached the podium, the crowd rose in appreciative applause. With unmatched dignity, he settled the crowd and stood confident before his admirers. Removing the cigar and carefully placing the top hat on the podium, Churchill gazed at his waiting audience. Authority rang in Churchill's voice as he shouted,
"Never give up!"
Several seconds passed before he rose to his toes and repeated:
"Never give up!"
His words thundered in their ears. There was a deafening silence as Churchill reached for his hat and cigar, steadied himself with his cane and left the platform. His commencement address was finished.

Motivational Video- Zebra drowns Lioness

Generosity

This story implies multiple morals to us. Read on

Mahatma Gandhi went from city to city, village to village collecting funds for the Charkha Sangh. During one of his tours he addressed a meeting in Orissa. After his speech a poor old woman got up. She was bent with age, her hair was grey and her clothes were in tatters. The volunteers tried to stop her, but she fought her way to the place where Gandhiji was sitting. "I must see him," she insisted and going up to Gandhiji touched his feet. Then from the folds of her sari she brought out a copper coin and placed it at his feet. Gandhiji picked up the copper coin and put it away carefully. The Charkha Sangh funds were under the charge of Jamnalal Bajaj. He asked Gandhiji for the coin but Gandhiji refused. "I keep cheques worth thousands of rupees for the Charkha Sangh," Jamnalal Bajaj said laughingly "yet you won't trust me with a copper coin." "This copper coin is worth much more than those thousands," Gandhiji said. "If a man has several lakhs and he gives away a thousand or two, it doesn't mean much. But this coin was perhaps all that the poor woman possessed. She gave me all she had. That was very generous of her. What a great sacrifice she made. That is why I value this copper coin more than a crore of rupees."

The two moral I can frame this story are

1. Being Generous is not only in money, but also in the attitude.

2. God not only values you based on number of hours you work but also based on your willingness to work.

For example: Raja is free the whole day and spends only two hours on studying for exams and Rakesh works in hotel and can gets only two hours to study, God would value Rakesh's effort more than Raja's. Because he spends the only two hours he is free on studying.

Motivational stories - Hardwork

Everything I have narrated below is my understanding of how and why my life reacted to my actions.

I am 26 years old now and I cannot say that I have not achieved anything; I also cannot say that I have achieved everything. But I can be sure of one thing, when I invested hard work on any thing it always resulted in Success. Be it how I did or what I did, if I put in hard work, it always resulted in success. The below is a short narration of one such moment in my life, when I realised “Hard work never fails”.

This happened in the year 2004, My sixth semester university exams was nearing, I had at least a dozen of papers from the previous exams apart from 6 papers from my current semester’s. On one fine day, just before the study holiday’s begun I was sitting with my friends in a snack shop and discussing about how to face this exam. And suddenly one of my friend quoted something new to me,

“It is all the hard work you do, no matter how tough the question paper is or how much of your answers are correct. God knows how hard you’ve worked and will answer to it definitely.”

This sentence rang in my mind again and again and the next 30 days, I was always seen with the books. Only this time I went through some books for the first time in the past three years. I tried and tried to understand many of the concepts for the first time. I sorted help from some of the studious in my class and they helped me a lot. But even before I could complete 50% of the chapters, time ran out and my first exam of sixth semester came nigh. Guys who had cleared the papers on time would get a day holiday between each exam, but for me it was like a Test Cricket Match. I would have two exams per day, six days a week for three weeks. On one such day, I had tough exams on both morning and afternoon, so I decided not to care about the exam on the afternoon and concentrate for the one in the morning. Next day morning I was in the examination hall and I opened my question paper for which I thought I had concentrated fully. But the questions looked like some complex alien language. I was not sure I would even able to attend at least two questions. However still having the hard work never fails concept in my mind I started attending all the questions with what ever I had learnt. By the time I finished the paper my world was covered with full of sorrow. I heard a voice in my head telling me “I am gonna fail this paper”. Everything went black and I cried. My mom called me to ask how my exam was and I was not able to control and I cried.

Some how I completed all my exams and my results came after a month. I still remember my friend informing me the results over the phone, that I have cleared many of my papers. But all I cared was about the one paper which made me cry. I had cleared that paper. Yet this time it made me cry again but this time , tears of joy. Also on a whole I had cleared 18 papers, which was a college record. I would like to attribute all of these to god who handled the situation. So don’t pray to god for success, pray to him to give enough strength to work or fight hard. Success is just product of hard work.

God's Gift - Inspirational story

Hi,
I got the below mail from one of my friend and I was really inspiring
A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?

Motivational Personality - Chris Gardner

Chris Gardner(yes, the one you know from Pursuit of happiness) was born on 1954 in Wisconsin. Gardner’s childhood was not as good as ours. His stepfather was physically abusive and was rage. Intolerable with her husband Gardner’s mother tried to kill her husband by burning the house with her husband inside, for which she was imprisoned. She was the only source of inspiration or motivation to her son, Chris. She believed in Chris and asked him to believe in himself, which induced Gardner’s self reliance.
Gardner quotes his mother’s words
“You can only depend on yourself. The Cavalry ain’t coming.”
Gardner always learned from his experience and he understood he should avoid alcoholism, domestic abuse, child abuse, illiteracy, fear, and powerlessness in his life in future.
His dream job was to become a Stock Broker and achieving it was not very easy. He had to run behind lots of manager, his cars constantly amassed parking tickets, he was homeless and still willing took custody of his son. His road to success was not smooth; he had to stumble upon lot of issues and had to solve them on daily basis. But he never gave up. He stood up against all the problems and now he is a millionaire. What is that he had that led him to success? It is Self motivation. He constantly told himself that “he can” and finally he did it.
This is just a heads up about the motivational personality, Chris Gardner. Please visit the Wikipedia page about Chris Gardner to know more about him. Also don’t forget to watch the movie, Pursuit of Happyness.

The Story of Butterfly

The Story of Butterfly- Answer for one frequent question you ask yourself "what is my problem?"

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hoursas it struggled to squeeze its body through the tiny hole. Then it stopped, as if it couldn't go further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bits of cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily butit had a swollen body and shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch it,expecting that any minute the wings would enlarge and expand enough to support the body,Neither happened! In fact the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around. It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand:The restricting cocoon and the struggle required by the butterfly to get through the opening was a way of forcing the fluid from the body into the wings so that it would be ready for flight once that was achieved.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives.Going through life with no obstacles would cripple us.We will not be as strong as we could have beenand we would never fly.
